Community Engagement Leader

Department: Marketing
Location: La Plata, MD

Job Summary:


The Community Engagement Leader will be instrumental in representing the brand and fostering community connections. This role involves coordinating events, managing budgets, overseeing promotional materials, and collaborating with the marketing team. As a part-time position you may work between 20-25 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize food, people, the cow and community influence to enhance brand visibility and engagement
  • Act as a brand ambassador to cultivate strong relationships within the community
  • Implement emotional connection marketing strategies for impactful interactions
  • Effectively communicate with the leadership team to align community engagement efforts
  • Provide guidance and resources to the social media coordinator for cohesive marketing strategies
  • Plan and coordinate a variety of external and in-store events to engage the community
  • Monitor and manage the marketing budget to ensure financial goals are met
  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans, delivering quarterly progress reports
  • Oversee giveaways, promotions, and marketing activities to drive community involvement
  • Maintain promotional materials (POP) inventory to support marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with other marketing directors to share insights and align strategies
  • Track ROI and proforma metrics for events to evaluate performance
  • Partner with the training team to effectively convey product and event messages
  • Manage marketing supplies stored both on and off-site for accessibility
  • Utilize team members to promote new products and limited-time offers effectively
  • Supervise marketing staff and collaborate with the catering director and social media coordinator for integrated marketing efforts


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Associate's degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, or minimum 2 years of local business marketing/communications experience.
  • Proven experience in community engagement, event planning, or marketing
  • Strong network of local contacts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional ability to take initiative, manage tasks with minimal supervision, and demonstrate self-motivation in achieving goals
  • Strategic mindset with the capacity to develop and execute marketing plans
  • Knowledge of ROI evaluation and performance tracking methodologies
  • Leadership skills to manage and motivate a team effectively
